What a record, 10% of Indian Olympians are from Lovely Professional University. I hope LPU will send students to the Indian cricket team also! Jai Hind," wrote Virat Kohli.

Due to the nature of the post, the Advertising Standards Council of India (ASCI) is ready to send a notice to Kohli. This post includes the university's official social media handles and also has the hashtag #LPUStudentsInOlympics. According to ASCI's newly launched effective guidelines, this post has not been disclosed as mandatory.

ASCI General Secretary Manisha Kapoor said, "ASCI will take up the issue and write to the celebrity and advertiser for their explanation."

Kohli has 228 million followers on multiple social media platforms.

Virat Kohli has posted a series of pictures on social media, including LPU's contribution to the ongoing Olympics. Kohli praised the university and suggested that they should also send some opportunities to the Indian cricket team.

Netizens did not respond well to the promotional post made by the cricketer. He also noted the lack of a 'paid promotional' tag, which is usually found in such posts. The LPU has not yet commented on the matter.
